Pale Duck Egg Blue Opaque Glass Mantle Lustre Vase Antique Victorian c 1870
A pale duck egg blue opaque glass vase with faceted cut glass prismatic lead crystal lustre droppers, dating from the Victorian period around 1870, probably made in the Stourbridge in England.
This pretty bulbous bowled frilled rim columnar vase has been hand painted with a very pretty pink, cream, green and brown flower decoration with additional gilding to highlight the decoration. This type of vase was often made to sit on mantle shelves and the glass droppers reflected the light in the room. It is highly decorative and a very collectable antique.
It is in good antique condition with one of the lower edges of a frill being chipped, a stablised crack to the foot and there are tooling marks and bubble inclusions from manufacture. There is some minor wear to the gilding and the enamel, some of the droppers may be replacements and some have very minor chips.
