Patinated Bronze Ormolu Figural 5 light Candelabrum Lamp French c 1890 68cm
Patinated bronze and ormolu figural five lamp candelabrum lamp on an ornate scrolled, reeded, gadrooned waisted circular base raised on scrolling acanthus feet. This lamp is probably French and dates from the late 19th century around 1890.
The figure is modelled as a young woman, probably a bacchante, sat upon a floral encrusted rock. She is holding a gilded flower wrapped cornucopia which in turn supports the five branch lamp. The branches of the lamp are decorated with naturalistic flowers including lily buds and blooms.
The lamp has previously been fitted for electricty but, now requires rewiring, appropriate to your country's wiring standards. One lily bud is missing, no other damage.
The lamp is 27 inches or 68 cm high and the base 9 inches or 23 cm diameter. It weighs 7.7 kg unpacked.
