Pink Opaque Glass Mantle Lustre Vase Antique Victorian c 1870
A pink opaque glass vase with faceted cut glass prismatic lead crystal droppers, dating from the Victorian period around 1870, probably made in the Stourbridge in England.
This pretty bulbous bowled cut lobed rim columnar vase has been hand painted with a green, red, white and black medallion and swag stylised decoration with additional gilding with a black outline, to highlight the decoration. This type of vase was often made to sit on mantle shelves and the glass droppers reflected the light in the room. It is highly decorative and a very collectable antique.
It is in good antique condition with one of the scallops on the rim has a small chip, there are tooling marks and bubble inclusions from manufacture. There is some wear to the gilding and the enamel, some of the droppers have very minor marks and chips.
