A Victorian platinum lustre pedestal footed round bachelor sized terracotta bodied teapot. This nice quality antique decorative terracotta bodied earthenware tea pot has been made in a shouldered round shape, with a low collar on a low pedestal foot. The stepped dome lid has a double button finial. The whole tea pot is decorated with silver coloured lustrous glaze, This small or bachelor size teapot dates to the mid 19th century during the reign of Queen Victoria circa 1840.
This teapot is unmarked. It could have been made by a number of makers, most probably from Staffordshire, England.
The teapot is in good antique condition, there is a glued chip to the rim and a nick to the spout. There is some rubbing or marking to the lustre. Please see the images.
