Set 8 Port Wine Glasses Cut Bucket Bowl Drum Knop Stem Edwardian Antique c 1900
A very attractive and usable set of eight Georgian style, Edwardian period circa 1900 ,very good quality, lead crystal port wine glasses.
These very elegant glasses have faceted base to the bucket bowl with hobnail and blaze cutting above. The short stem has an annulated knop, sometimes described as a drum knop. The glasses have a plain foot with a ground pontil mark and there are some small signs of tooling marks.
The glasses stand 3 3/4 inches high, have a bowl diameter of 2 1/8 inches and the bases have a diameter of approx 2 inches. They are in excellent condition throughout and have the wear to the bases that you would expect to see with antique glassware of the period.
Together they weigh 792g. They would make a great addition to any collection of antique drinking glasses and very decorative ideal for display and for use.
