A set of four elegant, attractive and lovely quality mid 19th century conical shaped champagne flutes circa 1860. The glasses each have a long drawn plain flaring trumpet bowl and integral baluster knop. The bowl and knop have been facet cut with six facets that run half way up the bowl, often termed petal cut, as they look like a flower from above. They sit on plain slightly conical feet which have have a ground pontils on the bases.
They are in very good antique condition. there are tooling marks, bubbles and inclusions within the metal. There are very minor differences in height and size owing to the fact they are hand made. One has a tiny nick to the edge of one of the facets. There is an amount of wear on the base that you would expect to see with an antique item of glassware for the table.
The glasses have a capacity of 125 mls and each stand approximately 7 1/4 inches (18.3 cm) high , have a rim diameter of 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm) and have a base of 2 5/8 inches (6.7 cm). They weigh 542 grammes unpacked.
This is a lovely set of antique glasses to add to any collection and are great pieces both for display and most certanly for use!
