Set Four Georgian Cut Glass Port Wine Glasses Bucket Bowled Antique c 1825
A lovely set of four antique Georgian hand blown and cut port wine glasses dating from around 1820 to 1830. They have bucket bowls and ball-knopped stems on plain feet with polished pontils. Each glass is beautifully cut with diamond cuts, between bands, lens cuts and facets.
The glasses stand 4 1/4 inches high. The plain feet are approximately 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. They also have evidence of wear as you would expect to see with antique glassware for the table.
The glasses are high quality and have the distinctive slightly greyish hue of antique lead glass. They were possibly produced in Ireland, alternatively they may have been made in Stourbridge, England.
Together they weigh 730 grammes unpacked and they are in excellent condition with just a very small number of tiny fleabites to the facets. This is a lovely set of glasses for display and use.
