Set Six French Antique Faceted Trumpet Bowled Aperitif Glasses Plain Foot 19th C seven facets to trumpet bowl petal cut - 75 ml capacity 10.3 cm high

A set of six antique French faceted trumpet bowled aperitif glasses dating from the 19th C. The glasses each have a long drawn faceted flaring trumpet bowl. The bowls are unusually faceted with seven facets that run half way up the bowl, often termed petal cut, as they look like a flower from above. They sit on plain moulded feet with an extremely short blade knopped stem. These glasses are made of lead glass or crystal as they ring beautifully when flicked with a finger. Some collectors may refer to these as Vodka glasses.

They are in very good antique condition. there are tooling marks, bubbles and minor inclusions within the metal. There are very minor differences in height and size owing to the fact they are hand made.  One has a tiny nick to  the edge of the rim. There is an amount of wear on the bases that you would expect to see with an antique item of glassware for the table.

The glasses have a maximum capacity of 75 mls and each stand approximately 4 1/8 inches (10.3 cm) high , have a rim diameter of 2 1/8 inches (5.4cm) and have a base of 2 1/16 inches (5.2 cm). They weigh 764 grammes unpacked.

This is a lovely set of antique glasses to add to any collection and are great pieces both for display and most certainly for use, bon appétit!
