An Art-Deco silver plated four piece tea service by Roberts and Belk which consists of a coffee pot or hot water jug, a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug.
The tea service is generally of a round modernist shape with a feint soft panelled body, having incised linear bands around the upper half, all on a short conical foot. The items with spouts have a beaded lower edge the to base of the spouts.
The teapot, milk jug and coffee pot have shaped xylonite type handles and finials.
The bases of all items are marked with the trademark of a oil lamp, RB S EP and three ostrich feathers. They have the trade name of Romney plate and Sheffield made. Made by Roberts and Belk of Furnival Works, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
This tea service dates from 1920 - 1930 period and is in excellent vintage condition with a few minor marks commensurate with the age and use. The tea pot has a small dent to the foot and has been used having some tannin marking internally. Displays extremely well and a pleasure to use.
