Thomas Goode & Co. London Porcelain Forget Me Not flower encrusted slipper shaped wall pocket painted circa 1890 - Meissen style - Antique 19thC

An antique nineteenth century porcelain floral encrusted slipper or flat shoe shaped wall pocket or wall vase. All naturalistically hand painted in polychrome enamel colours. The flowers are forget me nots.  This vase is a copy of the style of porcelain produced by Meissen at the same period. There are two pierced holes to the back and top of the heel with a metal wire suspension cord. The sole or underside is glazed.

The underside has an underglaze grey printed retailers mark of T. Goode & Co. London. There is no makers mark however, we believe that it was made in the late 19th century and possibly made by a factory such as Minton.  Thomas Goode & Co. Luxury goods retailer and purveyors of fine tableware china and glassware have occupied 19 South Audley Street since 1845 and first opened their doors to Mayfair’s retail customers back in 1875. 

Condition: It is in good antique condition with some of the usual very minor chips to flowers and foliage and loss of enamel. There are to short cracks. One to the left at the fold of the heel and another to the right on the side near the tongue. Please see the images.
