Victorian Sunderland Ale Glass Lens Cut Tall Bowl Antique circa 1865
A very attractive and usable Victorian period tall Sunderland ale glass with a lens cut elongated round funnel bowl, circa 1865. This lovely ale glass has five bands of lens cuts on the bowl, which sits on a short basal baluster knop stem on a plain foot with a ground pontil. It rings when flicked with a finger.
It is in very good antique condition, there are tooling marks, striations and inclusions within the metal and a few bubble inclusions, There is a scratch to the upper section of the bowl, possibly caught by the cutting wheel in manufacture. It has the wear to the base that you would expect to see with antique glassware for the table.
It has a capacity of half a pint and would make a great addition to any collection of antique drinking glasses and very decorative for display and very usable.
