Victorian Wrythen Cut Glass Claret Jug Handled Decanter Cut Neck Stopper c 1880

A most attractive antique clear glass claret jug or handled decanter dating from circa 1880 to 1890. The good quality hand blown claret jug has a wrythen body with a cut neck spout featuring fine diamonds. There is a plain strap handle and the base is star cut.

The spire shaped faceted stopper is a good tight fit to the jug and has a scratched number 2 on the side of the shaft. The jug stands 10 inches high overall and is approx 5 1/4 inches wide. It weighs 710g and is in very good, clean condition and ready to use. 

This is a lovely antique Victorian decanter for display and use and would make a very elegant addition to any dinner table or side table.
